Kess Bezzy’s journey is a story of resilience and self-discovery. Born in Portugal to Angolan parents who sought a better life, he grew up amidst challenges but found community in the church, where he joined the choir. However, his true passion as a teenager was basketball. Playing for the Porto-based team “Vasco da Gama,” Kess dreamed of making it to the NBA, inspired by his idols. At 15, he received a letter from a school linked to Michael Jordan, outlining a path to success.
Hoping to fulfill his dreams, his mother sent him to England for better opportunities. Unfortunately, family members he relied on let him down, forcing him to return to Portugal. Back home, his mother was unemployed, and Kess, still a teenager, had to find a way to support them. At 17, he joined the Portuguese Army, where he found stability and discipline.
During this time, music began to emerge as his new passion. His first single, “Fala-me ao Ouvido,” gained local success and opened doors, but Kess realized he wasn’t staying true to his R&B and Hip Hop roots. Determined to take control of his career, he spent five years mastering music production.
In 2020, Kess launched Wavy Way, an independent music label focused on empowering new artists. During the pandemic, he produced over 300 projects, showcasing his dedication to his craft. Today, Kess is a symbol of perseverance, using his platform to inspire others and build a legacy rooted in authenticity and hard work.
