Howdy, y'all! My name is Kevin Wayne Northen. I'm a guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and audio engineer from Central Texas. I grew up in the church, listening to big harmonies and soaring melodies. Music always spoke to me in a way that nothing else could. I started singing in church services at around 5 years old, and discovered rock music as a teenager. I'd already learned to play the trumpet a year or so before that, but I found myself wanting to learn an instrument I could play while singing. So, I taught myself to play guitar when I was 15, after finally convincing my Dad to let me buy one. I started writing music soon after I picked up the instrument. Over the next couple years, I began experimenting with writing lyrics. By the end of 1998, I'd gotten pretty good at writing full songs. "The Door" is actually a song I wrote when I was 18. In the summer of 2008, I decided to go back to school. In December of 2012, at 32 years old, I got a degree in audio engineering. I do all my own production work in my home studio. Now I'm in my early 40's, and I'm the most rock & roll Granddaddy you'll ever meet. The music I make is a blend of rock, punk, metal and country influences, from quiet ballads to aggressive rockers. It's a little eclectic, but that's what makes it fun. You never know what you might hear me do. Hope you enjoy the tunes and thanks for listening!
