Keyz Vango

R&B/Alternative Hip-Hop recording artist Keyz Vango is a producer/songwriter currently blooming out of Bushwick, Brooklyn with an innovative brand of sound waves inspired by icons from Kanye to Nirvana. A fearless creative, Vango is on a never-ending journey to become the best version of himself and he brings that same energy to his fans whenever he touches the stage – a drive that recently propelled him to the semi-finals of AFROPUNK Battle of the Bands Brooklyn 2019.


Keyz was born in Montgomery, Alabama, but his family would soon move to Middletown, NY where he would learn to play piano by his early teens. Growing up in a Christian household, listening to most secular sound waves were off limits but Vango always found a way to keep music at his fingertips. After spending a few years making beats in his bedroom as a hobby Keyz would eventually drop out of college & move out on his own to NYC to pursue his musical ambitions.


For the “‘Bama boy turned city-boy”, making music serves as an outlet to break free of some of those old historical chains creatively and spiritually while tearing down his own barriers & fears in the process. His sound has been compared to The Weeknd, SAINt JHN and 6LACK, with his discography being written, produced, recorded and mixed entirely by Keyz himself. Each vibe is brilliantly constructed with his “Frankenstein-like” approach to building melodies, then textured with vocal improvisations that lets Vango’s lyrics come to the fore.
