Born Dickson Kwayisi in Akropong-Akuapem, Ghana, Kidd Africa’s love affair with rap goes back to his childhood, when he would record freestyle over his mom’s favorite cassettes and listen to artists like Eminem, Nas, and Jadakiss. Kidd Africa moved to the States and began recording his rap to pursue his passion for the craft. In the years since, he’s earned a reputation for well-crafted wordplay and a slow-burning production style. Kidd Africa released his Single A helping hand in December 2018 and has now backed it up with most recent EP, Make Way.
