Kidd & Queen is the alias of 22-year-old Christian Gann, an independent music producer and songwriter, residing in the DC metro area. Having produced electronic music for about three years and written songs for many years more, Gann goes back to his roots with his newest project.
From memories of his mother playing piano in the living room to his introduction to Europe's hottest club scene in Berlin, Gann has found common ground for his love of both organic instrumentation and electrifying dance music. Gann's bold presence in the queer community as a drag queen and multi-media artist inspires many of his lyrics; by highlighting the mutual and unique experiences of all members of the LGBTQ+ world, he hopes to enlighten listeners and promote a feeling of unity and acceptance.
The first release of Kidd & Queen, "Weight on Me (feat. Matt Sky)", kicks off the journey, illustrating the everyday obstacles and achievements of fighting for one's mental health. “Only You,” his second single, is an uplifting anthem about self love and the power of manifestation. Almost a year later, he’s released his third song, “Echoes In My Head (feat. catlaine),” a more emotional, sensitive story about intrusive thoughts.
