With your back against the wall, there is only one way to go: forwards.
When a bunch of girls formed a band in Berlin 2007, they had no idea of where it would lead. KILL HER FIRST was the answer to a question not yet asked: Where are all the female stories in hardcore and metal?
Plenty of years, tours, releases and several line-up changes later, KILL HER FIRST is still going strong and staying true to their initial aim: To spread hope through music and to make room for the voices unheard.
With their fresh single Repetition and a concise concept album in tow, they bow out of 2024 with nothing to prove. Their music is still full of hope, darkness, friendship, anger and longing. The antiheros and antiheroines in their songs are misunderstood, demonized and relegated to the margins of society. In their struggles, the characters do not become saints, but their steadfastness certainly gives any listener courage.
In 2022, Kill Her First initiated the Female-Fronted Is Not A Genre mini-festival and has been bringing together exciting line-ups of female-fronted bands every year since, including Future Palace, Blood Command, The Pill, Saint Agnes or Still Talk. The band has shared the bill with and taken inspiration from Hawthorne Heights, Kittie, Thursday, Anberlin, Descendents, Refused, Cancer Bats or ZSK.
Kill Her First is Gero Crocianelli, Giulia Campagna, David Lütke, Willy Schmidt and Lea Ciara Czullay.
