Arcadia is the new album by St Albans' collective Kill The Giants. This is their 4th album and is inspired by their love of the 1980's, amusement arcades and video games.
The band have received rave reviews from the likes of Hotpress, Steve Lamacq from BBC 6 Music & John Kennedy from Radio X.
Kill The Giants have mixed up genres at will on their previous albums but have gone back to the electronica of the 1980's for Arcadia. The album is influence by 80's pop, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and New Order.
The first single from the album is When i Feel Alone which is dedicated to all those who suffer from depression.
RnR Magazine said of the album:
"It's both gorgeous and unexpected, as is everything about this unique album, which so skilfully blends innovation, disco beats, sampling and more. Fabulous!"
Hotpress the influential Irish music magazine loved their first album "For The Gold" and said:
"Kill The Giants, a genre-bending outfit who manage to cram thrash metal, hip-hop, classical and world music into their particularly madcap cacophony. Even more weirdly, it works. "
The influential BBC 6 Music DJ Steve Lamacq recently featured the band on his 6 Music Recommends show and said of the album:
"Its atmospheric, emotive and sometimes baffling. I like it."
