Born and bred in Queensbridge, MC Killa Sha (aka Sha-Lumi) first appeared on the 12" single "The Tragedy (Don't Do It)" in 1986 as part of a short-lived group named the Super Kids with fellow Queens rappers Craig G (of the famed Juice Crew) and Tragedy Khadafi. Throughout the '90s, he formed similar Queens-based groups that never really took off. However, he earned some success performing with Mobb Deep as their official touring DJ and, at the beginning of the 2000s, co-hosting the Extra Long Radio show with Stretch Armstrong. During this period, Killa Sha stopped relying on groups, contributing verses of his own to old cohort Tragedy's Against All Odds LP (2001) and the Lake compilation The 41st Side (2001), as well as appearing on mixtapes by DJ Kay Slay, DJ Whookid, and DJ Green Lantern. The Queens MC distributed his own mixtapes, such as The Black Eminem and Da Billy Colez Story, before he released his solo debut album, God Walk on Water, on Money Maker Recordings in 2007. The full-length contained productions from Large Professor, Ayatollah, and Mobb Deep's Havoc. ~ Cyril Cordor, Rovi
