Killer Kaya integrates 60’s era psychedelic sound with funk and soul elements. Based out of Santa Barbara, California, USA, Earth, Milky Way Galaxy, The Deep Cold Vastness of Space. Killer Kaya&#39;s members are Apoorva Chiplunkar on vocals, Zach Rengert (also <a href="spotify:artist:4x9aZNhMtmWSLZ2e7JgaPr" data-name="Dr. Buzzkill & the Psychedelic Suicide Pills">Dr. Buzzkill & the Psychedelic Suicide Pills</a>) on guitar/synth, Eric Engel on guitar, Alex Pavellas on bass, and Justin Kass (Also <a href="spotify:artist:5fhJ2VAygK2vx6XPFEbCBU" data-name="The Shorelines">The Shorelines</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5lMoOdAXG6I6XHA0TwUPzi" data-name="Reefcity">Reefcity</a>)on drums. The lovechild of scientists and hippies (?), Killer Kaya is reminiscent of the days where flower children roamed free and incense swirled about in whimsical billows. Killer Kaya released their first EP titled Cigarette Echolocation in 2015 and their first full length album, 29 Lives, in August 2017. Their latest release Persimmon Perspective came out in December 2018 and was recorded by Tommy Dietrick (<a href="spotify:artist:26fEfm4QtTgQhNipYcijdQ" data-name="SKY PARADE">SKY PARADE</a>) , former member of <a href="spotify:artist:30uiS1n3uIGXJEYFR1GVDy" data-name="The Brian Jonestown Massacre">The Brian Jonestown Massacre</a> at Skylab Studios in Joshua Tree, CA. They have played shows throughout California and in 2019 played SXSW in Austin, TX.
