Child prodigy Kimberly Scott performed in public for the first time at the age of five, and earned her first recording contract before she turned 11. Scott was born in Maryland, and after her first appearance in public, began to turn heads at the Apollo Theater. She won the amateur-night contest five times, and signed to the Longevity imprint of Columbia Records.
