As a rapper, singer, and songwriter, he delivers his music in Liberian English and local slang, giving voice to the stories and struggles of his community.
Born in Kin Nor, a small village in Nimba County, Liberia, King Darrous moved with his family to Monrovia City in 2006, settling in Darquen Town. There, he completed his elementary, junior, and senior high school education. His passion for music began in 2014, performing in class and collaborating with friends at home.
In 2016, King Darrous featured on the track “African Lady” by rising artist Trippina, and later that year, on November 17, released his debut single “Me and My Man Neh” – a song that spoke on behalf of ghetto youth and marginalized adults. Since then, his music has consistently represented the unheard voices of his community.
On June 8, 2021, King Darrous relocated to Adelaide, Australia with his younger brother to join their single mother.
