Inspired by legends like Jodeci, Maxwell, and the sounds of Motown, his music carries the warmth of the past while speaking to the experiences of Los Angeles youth today.

Born to a Filipina mother and a Mexican father in Highland Park, King’s sound is deeply shaped by his heritage. In his Filipino household, karaoke machines introduced him to soulful ballads, while long LA car rides meant oldies on K-EARTH 101 and lowriders cruising to timeless tracks. These influences shaped his love for melodies that tell stories.

After a five-year hiatus, 2025 marks King Leon’s ambitious return: 12 singles in 12 months. Each song weaves a story of love, heartbreak, and self-discovery, set against the vibrant yet isolating backdrop of LA. Through innovative videography and immersive storytelling, King invites listeners into a world where every emotion has a melody.
