King ND

Known as “Chennai’s Desi Rapper”, KING ND aka Nitish Dogra is a rapper and a lyricist with a Punjabi background. He gradually built up his adoration for rap music. He expressed to convey no-nonsense raps in Hindi/Punjabi. He was delivering hardcore underground desi rap, a style that had not been done in Tamil Nadu.

In 2013 he released his first studio mixtape called ‘The Rising’. He has performed around his city and ventured out to Bangalore multiple times representing the culture. Talking about his journey in the hip-hop scene till now King ND stated, “I’ve been into the scene for a good amount of time now and I just made music for myself as it helped me ease off my stress. During this time I had a few listeners who came to me and thanked me as they could relate to my lyrics and it made them feel like they aren’t alone. It kinda hit me that if I could help a few along this journey then that’s a life well lived.”

KING ND has collaborated with various artists from India. In 2016 KING ND collaborated with Desihiphop and tried to bring artists from different cities together as part of the ‘unity through hip-hop’ objective. As a combined effort they successfully released ‘16 bars the cypher’ and ‘The desi unit cypher’.

In 2017 KING ND and Desihiphop released ‘Lessons - The Chennai Mixtape’ which featured artists from Chennai. The same year he released his album K.N.D ( King’s Never Die ). In 2020 KING ND released a few solos which were well received by his listeners.
