한국의 음악가 키라라는 2014년부터 활동을 시작해 5장의 정규앨범을 포함한 다수의 앨범들을 기획하고 발매하였다. 섬세한 멜로디의 조합을 통해 슬프면서도 신나는 상반된 감정을 동시에 불러일으키는 키라라의 음악은 90년대 영국의 댄스음악과 00년대 일본의 전자음악에서 많은 영향을 받아 만들어졌다. 키라라는 자신이 직접 작곡한 전자음악을 컴퓨터와 미디 컨트롤러를 이용해 연주하는 라이브셋 공연을 연 30회 이상 꾸준히 해오고 있으며, 국내외의 다양한 라이브클럽과 댄스클럽을 포함하여, 펜타포트 락 페스티벌, DMZ 피스트레인 뮤직 페스티벌, 울트라 코리아, 베니스 비엔날레 (이탈리아), SXSW (미국), Primavera Pro (스페인) 등의 무대에서 공연을 가진 이력이 있다. 키라라는 2025년까지 한국대중음악상에 6개년에 걸쳐 총 8번 노미네이트 되었으며, 그 중 한 번을 수상하였다.
KIRARA is a musician from South Korea who has been active since 2014, planning and releasing numerous albums, including five full-length studio albums. Her music, which combines delicate melodies to evoke emotions that are simultaneously melancholic and exhilarating, is deeply influenced by 1990s British dance music and 2000s Japanese electronic music. KIRARA regularly performs over 30 live sets each year, playing electronic music she composes herself using a computer and MIDI controllers. She has performed at various live clubs and dance venues both in Korea and overseas, and has appeared on major stages such as the Pentaport Rock Festival, DMZ Peace Train Music Festival, Ultra Korea, the Venice Biennale (Italy), SXSW (USA), and Primavera Pro (Spain). By 2025, KIRARA has been nominated eight times over six different years for the Korean Music Awards, winning once.
