kIRk is a band which has distinctly marked its presence in Polish independent music. The collective has performed at the largest Polish festivals, such as Open'er, OFF Festival and Tauron Nowa Muzyka. Their music was complemented by Michael Gira from Swans, Nils Petter Molvaer and Jerzy Mazzoll.
kIRk is about morphing - from a techno trio playing in Tresor, through a multi-personal collective flirting with many streams of the so-called Urban Music, up to electro-acoustic improvised element. The last decade of the band's activity was treading on the dark side of the force - such albums as „Msza Święta w Brąswałdzie”, „Zła krew” or „III” " were reaching for extreme, far from idyllic emotions. Although you could still feel the spirit of the "old" kIRk there, “Ich dzikie serca” published in 2017 heralded something new.
The last album – „K.” is concord of different instruments and different people. It is a play resulting from listening to oneself and the surrounding world. Play which head to homeostasis. Gazing into timelessness and wishing to soothe. Anyhow, there are gusts of heart and disturbing visions on this road, and everyone - whether they like it or not - brings a piece of their history.
