Knowso started in 2015 as a solo demo tape by <a href="spotify:artist:6GhJMZaa4tIvR9HfLoWQsN" data-name="Cruelster">Cruelster</a> guitar mutilator Nathan Ward. They cemented their footprint into the wet cul-de-sac of obscurity with the release of their first LP “Look At The Chart” in 2017, the first to feature <a href="spotify:artist:6rnbB5fuUuCSsspvFsxIpT" data-name="Cloud Nothings">Cloud Nothings</a> /Unifactor Records’ own Jayson Gerycz on drums. Their ugly, alienating form of post-punk serves to tackle subjects such as burning out, workplace radicalization, societal decay, and existential cringe. Their new record "Hypnotic Smack" comes out in August 2025 on Sorry State Records.
