Hey there, my name’s Dakota Sauvé. You can call me “Suave” if you want, but I can’t promise that’s true! My artist and producer alias ‘Koda Suave’ is the collection of my contrasting ideals between light and dark. It was born out of my actual name being bent and mispronounced countless ways and countless times. It’s a simple reminder that a fixed concept can have so many different interpretations. Perspective is everything, and this is mine through music.
My taste in music is all over the place like most producers and artists. I could be jamming to Rage Against the Machine or Polyphia, follow it up with the smooth tunes of Masego or Janelle Monáe, then vibe to the angelic voice of Dallas Green from City & Colour.
Being somewhat of a geek, I spend my days developing games in Unreal Engine, sound designing in Ableton, and integrating game audio in FMOD. You can catch me neck deep in a spreadsheet, weightlifting, or out on a trail otherwise!
My background in production and games composing was born out of the hardcore bands I did vocals for during high school and college. Ranging from metalcore (The False Archaic) and emo revival garage bands, we caused shenanigans all over my hometown Cleveland, Ohio.
Music is such a subjective experience, but it’s my objective to bring immersive sounds to make listeners feel something vital in their soul. Whether it’s a moody verse, a jivey upbeat hook, or an ominous soundscape, just let it in. You’ll be glad you did!
