Kolo Slavuj is the supra-regional folk ensemble of the Croatian national minority in Burgenland,
the most eastern province in Austria. The ensemble was founded in 1971. The dances, the music
and tradition represented by Kolo Slavuj are part of the common heritage of the Croatian
national minority. The essence is Burgenland-Croatian, with several influences from the
neighboring cultures. Kolo Slavuj tries to combine traditional elements and modern cultural
expressions. Several producitions during the last years have been steps forward a new direction:
to develop modern ways of performing traditional heritage.
