Kool Sphere Is Keeping Real Hip Hop Alive With His Debut Album “Code of Ethics”
Coming up among some of the greatest lyricists to ever touch the mic, Kool Sphere is carrying on the legacy of hip hop with his solo debut, “Code of Ethics.”
Kool Sphere is an American rapper, writer, actor, and voice over artist, born & raised in the streets of Queens, NYC and Los Angeles, CA. Prior to these, he was an avid graffiti writer that decorated the neighborhood with vivid designs that reflected his eye for art and connection to hip hop culture. Soon, he would become influenced by rap pioneers like Gangstarr, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, Nas, and AZ, who inspired him to pick up a notepad and pen. Their lyrical agility coupled with bar heavy rhyme schemes and evolving flows was like an epiphany showing him his calling.
Kool Sphere’s musical path would excel in college, creating the rap group “Verbal Threat” alongside M.C. Reppond. Their first single ‘Reality Check’ produced by DJ Premier, brought underground recognition that translated to YouTube stardom after surpassing 2 million views without label support. With his name being molded alongside the greats, Kool Sphere put together a classic hip hop album featuring the legendary Pete Rock, AZ, Smoothe da Hustler, Verbal Threat, and Rhona Bennett from En Vogue among others. The solo project, titled “Code of Ethics” is an authentic representation of hip hop that has been lost over the ages.
