Koral Mesopotamia Ensemble

KORAL MESOPOTAMIA is an intercultueral choir ensemble of around 20 singers from different cities all over Iraq. They came together to work on a repertoire that combines Arabic, Kurdish, Assyrian, Yezidi, Turkmen and Armenian songs. And for the first time, these traditional songs were re-imagined in new polyphonic arrangements. The ensemble was led by opera singer Faten Ahmed; and coached by ethnomusicologist Luna Silva and music education professor Bernhard Hofmann.
