Kory Hilpmann

Kory writes to the heart of the matter with his piano or guitar. His indie sound is for fans of Ben Folds, Ben Kweller, Bright Eyes, and The Head and The Heart. Mixing pop and folk in an alternative way, Kory's songs vary in theme and invite strange time signatures and mixed meters at times. As a freelance film composer, Kory also writes original scores for feature & short films, podcasts, and cinematic instrumental tracks.

His newest indie folk-pop single "Guide Me Home" is Hilpmann's first release with a 'full-band' sound. The song is a warm and 'homey' homage to the loved ones in our lives who make us feel "at home". The song was written, composed, arranged, recorded, and produced by Kory. Stay tuned for more like this down the road as Hilpmann hopes to release a full length album in the near future.

His other recent 3-album series consists of improvised instrumental piano songs in varying moods: Tranquil, Adventurous, and Dark.
Played & Recorded live on his dining room piano on an iPhone for simplicity to "capture the moment" in the spirit of natural improvisation.

His EP "Whispers After Dark" features piano, guitar, harmonica & big vocal harmonies. "Piano Songs For Film" features instrumental piano tracks written in the cinematic style. "Raining Autumn" is an acoustic single produced to articulate a casual Autumn day.
