Koszorus Krisztina, also known as Koszika, is a Transylvanian-Romanian born and based Hungarian ethnic singer-songwriter. On paper she is a Classical violinist, but she feels most at home in Alternative Pop with Jazz, Funk and Folclore influences - and in singing. Her culturally colorful background certainly adds a twist to her approach to any kinds of music, but she tries to remain true, humble and respectful to what she considers to be values.
Having started singing traditional folclore at a very young age, she toured in Europe at only 10 years of age together with her father’s traditional Transylvanian folclore orchestra, singing Hungarian, Romanian and Gypsy folk tunes. This love for ethnic sounds kept driving her to push her musical bounderies and made her reuse the inherited knowledge in her later musical projects, mixing and combining Hungarian traditional songs with Bossa Nova, Swing, Reggae or even Drum and Bass.
She is a triple awarded jazz vocalist, winning several awards together with her bandmates in Koszika & The HotShots.
At the moment she is an active member of the romanian Alternative Pop, Jazz and Funk communities, also collaborating with other projects.
Together with fellow musician, guitarist Szász Csaba, they have founded funk-band Koszika & The HotShots in 2011, which is now known and successful in Romania, having played all the mainstream festivals in Romania and Hungary and having toured in France, Italy, Austria and Hungary.
