Karl Larry McQuilla-Pyles – producer, composer, and founder of Float Music LLC – was born in Jersey City, NJ, and raised in Newark, where he developed his musical style. Starting with music lessons at St. Philips Academy and a performing arts school, Karl went on to earn an Associate’s degree in Music Education (2001–2004).

In 2007, he co-founded MPM Music LLC with Scott Matthis, producing half of Scott Andrew Matthis Performs Live Entertainment (SAMPLE), which featured internationally recognized singles like Say What the Hell I Want.

Karl has produced and released several projects, including OFP: The Mixtape, Schizophrenic: The Mixtape, and IM1: The Interlude (DatPiff), as well as albums like Can’t Get Enough, Float Music, and Nu Places 2 Sea (Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music). Singles such as Superstar, Life of the Party, and Be Mine—released via Digiwaxx—remain in club and online rotation worldwide.

Through Float Music LLC, Karl continues to craft genre-bending music while mentoring emerging talent.
