Born from Oakland, CA but was raised in Charlotte, NC; K.Q is truly a Coast Boy. Because of his diverse upbringing, K.Q approaches the music with a unique style that can't be duplicated. Having a wide range of influencers from Peter Gabriel and Prince to Biggie, Lil Wayne and Drake, K.Q is authentic in his storytelling and his ability to create his own sound that people from all walks of life can relate to.
Starting his career in the dorms of North Carolina Agriculture & Technology (NCAT), K.Q joined a organization called “Couture Productions” where he honed on his skills as a performer in front of student body at varies school events. As a natural born ability to create unique authentic music with no effort, his subject matter or “missions” are based on family, love, heartbreak, & resiliency; all combined into projects that display cryptic wordplay and catchy hooks.
2018 is where K.Q broke out locally as an established artist w/ his 4 mixtape “Solo Savage” which had popular singles such a “Pockets”, “Wednesday”, & “Down to Ride” featuring NiaGee.
For 2019, K.Q was very quiet but methodical in only releasing a series of singles to prepare for his highly anticipated album “Movies” that was released in January 2020. Mentioned heavily in his previous project, “Movies” packs a huge punch with 18 tracks that clearly states that K.Q is here to stay!
