Although a collaboration between singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:0IIPgITtEO4JJfipw57KGv" data-name="Kris Berry">Kris Berry</a> and composer/producer <a href="spotify:artist:1jYPZvaIkl6LoRFFcXeJa2" data-name="Perquisite">Perquisite</a> might have seemed unlikely at first, their album 'Lovestruk Puzzles' demonstrates what magic happens when two artists step out of their comfort zones, and two different worlds collide.
The two started working together in 2012. The collaboration meant exploring new territory for both Kris and Perq. The result, ‘Lovestruck Puzzles’, became a melancholic and intensely personal album, on which Kris’ flowing top lines and expressive lyrics and Perquisite’s inventive, layered productions and harmonies mix in a natural way. The album was released in September 2013 and received a lot of critical acclaim from different corners: "Lovestruck Puzzles is a gorgeous record, with soulful, beat driven, warm-blooded songs. The album was nominated for the 3FM Awards category ‘Best Album’, and the single 'Let Go' became 'megahit'. Accompanied by their eccentric live band, Kris & Perq performed at many festivals across The Netherlands.
After their combined success, the two separated ways and continued their individual careers in 2014. Kris Berry released her new solo album 'Berry Street' in 2017. Perquisite focussed on composing film scores and started a fruitful collaboration with modern soul artist <a href="spotify:artist:3t9HafA5eFHM992s4GZ0Gr" data-name="Jeangu Macrooy">Jeangu Macrooy</a> who debuted in 2014.
