Born and raised in Montreal’s poorest neighborhood, Kris The $pirit transmutes his experiences through music as he continues to navigate the ups and downs of being an English artist in a predominantly French city.
Facing the struggles of growing up in an impoverished area of the city, Kris, at the age of 12, discovers hip hop culture during a long stay in Brooklyn, New York, while staying with his grandfather in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Upon returning, the young student then pursues his craft, following the likes of Biggie, Tupac Shakur & Eminem.

At the age of 17, Kris takes his craft of freestyle and poetic style rap to the next level by setting up recording sessions at a little burgundy community center, joining a local neighborhood rap group The Posterboiiz. The group was then revamped to be the beloved local duo The Posterz, the only English rap group from Montreal to tour internationally.
After a stint in the industry the group decided to disband after meetings with Atlantic records and Def Jam.
Clear headed and determined to continue creating music, now armed with knowledge about the industry, production and a well sharped song writing ability, Kris is ready to unleash his most potent material to date.
