KRSLYS is an acoustic duo from Darlington, UK, comprised of Kris Stevens and Steve Lodge. The duo began creating and recording music together in early 2022, after meeting in their mutual workplace in 2021 and becoming fast friends. In December of that year, Kris won a karaoke competition at a local pub, which led to a recording opportunity at a local studio. Their first song "Wake me up," a cover of Avicii's song of the same name, gained attention when it was released in April 2022 on YouTube. Their original songs "It's OK" and "Wings" also gained popularity over the year. KRSLYS was formed as the duo continued to experiment with new styles and techniques.
Cut to 2023 and they have since released 3 more original songs and are steadily performing in various venues across the North East. KRSLYS now has an active website that promotes everything they have going on. They have appeared for the second time on BBC Introducing showcasing their most recent release "Let me Go" which featured the use of a full band. They were awarded the Madison-Lyenette prize and appeared in the Darlington Carnival. With the prize money, they plan to release a full album in November with re-recorded versions of their oldest tracks, along with 4 brand new tracks.
