Kumité formed in the late summer of 2018 by four former members of the Seattle band Irukandji: Legion of Brass. Their music defies any genre as the group holds the firm belief that every song has its own soul. Their music ranges from rock, hip hop, and even a “spaghetti western” style song. In February of 2021, during the middle of lockdown, they played their first show in the form of a live stream featured on YouTube. Since then, they’ve released 2 singles with another on the way produced by Seattle legend Don Gunn. The group has been featured on TV shows such as Evening Magazine and Band in Seattle.
