Kunle

An acoustic guitarist and singer/songwriter, Kunle’s folk and soul music bridges contemporary styles with roots in West African rhythms and stories. Nigerian-born and currently based in Toronto, Kunle brings together his rich vocals, unique guitar tapping, harmonica and talking drum to take audiences into what he terms 'music with no boundaries'.
In Oct 2017, Kunle was the musical director and headliner for a sponsored performance with a 5-member band and a string quartet at the Alliance Française d’Accra Amphitheatre. The High Commissioner of Canada to Ghana tweeted “Great concert by Kunle @AFAccra. Thanks for bringing some new Canadian music to Accra! Looking forward to your next visit.”
Debut EP “ Amí N Relé” was released in 2015 “My Little Fingers” was awarded the best instrumental by Folk Music Ontario in 2015 Featured at Owen Sound Waterfront Festival 2017, Blue Skies Music Festival 2016, Peterborough Folk Festival 2016 and Mariposa Folk Festival 2015 (after which the Canadian folk legend Gordon Lightfood told Kunle to never stop playing) Opened for Shaggy, Mr. Bombastic himself, at Centennial College Toured Europe (2015, 2016 and 2017), East Coast Canada (2016), West Africa (2015, 2016, 2017) across Ontario (2016, 2017)
Recognized as a highly skilled guitarist and is a featured musician on the rosters of Stonebridge Guitars & Furch Guitars
