Kuntaq (contac) was born and grew up in Dallas Texas where he called home for most of his life. His life as the 5th of six children within a family that saw a father leave the home when Kuntaq was 3 years of age, two teenage brothers sent to the penitentiary, and a teenage sister become pregnant, produced his stories of hardship, love, and overcoming that lace his artistry. It was within local Dallas open mic venues where Kuntaq honed his soulful style and poignant delivery. While there, Kuntaq became an award winning poet and spoken word artist/performer. His flow has been called unique, vulnerable and raw. His message has been described as powerful and heartfelt.
