Sid Komaragiri is the award-winning artist behind KVS Tabla—a brand rooted in the ancient Indian hand drum and fused with the pulse of modern Western music. For almost 20 years, he has studied tabla as an act of joy, dexterity, and spiritual practice, blending intricate rhythmic patterns with contemporary genres.
Raised in Maryland by parents from Hyderabad, India, Sid began learning tabla as a child. By age ten, he was outperforming his instructors and soon began training under tabla master Pandit Samir Chatterjee, who remains his Guru today. From him, Sid learned not just technique, but the deeper math, language, and poetry of Indian classical music.
In 2021, Sid launched KVS Tabla on Instagram (a reversal of his initials), sharing short-form clips that reached millions and led to bookings across weddings, events, and festivals. From restaurant residencies to global performances in 15+ countries, he’s built a rapidly growing audience. Highlights include opening for 50 Cent at a private event, performing for luxury brands such as Cartier, three straight New York Fashion Week performances, and a sold-out headline show at Nublu NYC.
At 26, Sid self-funded a trip to Nepal to create his short film Rasa: Reckoning With Indo-fusion, honoring tabla's role across South Asia. The film is now in the festival circuit. His single Rasa, an EDM-tinged fusion track, is among several genre-blending releases. Following early originals, Sid is preparing to take his live show worldwide.
