Hailing from Tottenham, North London, KXYZ (formerly known as Keys) is a multi genre crossing musician following in the footsteps of the many great names from his hometown.
KXYZ began his musical journey in the same fashion as most inner city kids, rapping grime lyrics in his secondary school playground, going sixteen for sixteen over the likes Nutty Violins & Ghetto Kyote for the approval of his peers. KXYZ noticeably always excelled amongst his friends yet struggled to make ground in the grime scene.
It took KXYZ a number of years to find the sound you now hear him appearing to effortlessly produce today. He combines the sounds of new age trapsoul melodies with dancehall flows & rhythms, paying homage to his Jamaican heritage, all while staying true to his musical origin by never losing the real London Street Rap essence.
In 2021, KXYZ makes his return to the game with a new energy, and a new name. “I’ve been working in my own corner, at my own pace for years. I’ve already put in my 10,000 hours and then some under the name Keys. I feel I’ve done my training, I’ve done all the hard work. It’s the end of an old era, and the start of a new beginning. It's time!”
