Kyle McKay is a producer and multi-instrumentalist from Philadelphia. He has been banging on pots and pans since he was a little boy, along with making his own flutes out of bamboo. He started composing his own original music on the marimba during his lunch breaks in high school, all while falling in love with the instrument’s physicality and warm, earthy tones.
As a marimba player in the Cadets, he began to perfect the art of merging multiple instrumental layers into a crystalline portrait. This soon led to him writing a score for an award-winning, short documentary. With influences like Thievery Corporation, Sting, Kimbra, and Zero 7, Kyle’s ears have always been drawn to the unique contrast between percussive and etherial sounds.
“I Do,” his collaborative, debut single with childhood friend Julien Dufour perfectly express the”jungle space pop” essence of his music.
