Kymxni, was born on October 23rd 1997 in Clarendon Jamaica but moved to Redditch England when he was 4 years old. He wasn’t raised around music, he (just like any other kids) just enjoyed listening to music and gravitated towards hip hop and R&B. He started writing his first raps around the age of 12 but he never took music seriously until a decade later.
In an interview with the OKG podcast he states ”I never took music seriously because I was scared of being judged”, he recalls he tried to do YouTube rapping in year 7 and everybody played it in class and laughed him but when 2020 came he said ‘fuck it’.
Kymxni said to the OKG podcast “ I really regret not doing youtube/rapping all the way from year seven up to now because you see how people have gone on to make an incredible careers for themselves in that field within the YouTube community and then venturing into actual Hollywood. So that’s why I decided this year I’m going to buy all my studio equipment myself and I’m going to learn how to do all the mixing and master, screw what anybody thinks. And I say that because people are scared to chase their dreams so what they’ll try to do is hold you back from chasing yours, there is no fear of judgement no more because music is meant to be fun and to judge that why it’s subjective. Now there’s only excitement for what’s coming and watching my supporter base grow and my numbers grow and my skill grow. I promise you all one thing...
All hits, no misses”
