La Chonk was formed in late 2019 when lead singer and guitarist Dirty Town Jack, bassist Schmitty, drummer Slam Dunk, and 2nd guitarist Hard Corehands (who joined the band without an invitation) met in a small college dorm. The band combines classic 90’s punk rock with an ironic theme. They released their first EP in February of 2020 known as “Thirmsty 4”.
The band was originally created for female attention, but after the first few months of the band being formed, La Chonk went on to win 2nd place and the audience choice award in the SCAD Talent Show, so they decided to just keep going with it I guess, I dunno. The band now plays out of Savannah, Georgia where they really play any gig that will have them. Bars, birthday parties, Joe’s Crab Shack. I don’t give a shit.
