La Lena Angel Moon
La Lena Angel Moon was born on April 1, in Buffalo, New York, and raised in the South Bronx. After graduating from LaGuardia High School at the age of fifteen with honors, La Lena began composing music at the age of nine. At the age of seven, La Lena commenced playing the violin. At the age of ten, La Lena joined the Monarchs and performed with them until she reached the age of fifteen. Subsequently, she embarked on a solo career, participated in the school choir, the school dance troupe, and the instrument line.
While music is La Lena’s aspiration, nursing provides financial stability until music becomes a viable option. La Lena was diagnosed with a severe case of major depressive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). As part of her treatment regimen, La Lena engaged in music writing and creation as a therapeutic intervention. She dedicated a substantial portion of her time to music, which proved to be an effective means of managing her disorders. However, this dedication resulted in a rift between her and the Monarchs.
Despite her unwavering commitment, this dedication created a schism between her and the Monarchs. Two years later, La Lena was also diagnosed with lupus, which has since rendered her unable to dance. Nevertheless, she remains steadfast in her pursuit of a music career, despite the occasional adverse effects lupus can have on her vocal cords. She continues to strive to express her music.
