ladé is a Nigerian-Scottish producer whose work fuses intuitive sampling, emotional depth and textural storytelling into emotionally expansive soundscapes. Rooted in abstract hip-hop and sample based experimentation, her music is largely inspired by the human experience and expresses the universal feelings of joy, grief, and remembrance in audible form.

Her name, deliberately styled in all lowercase, places emphasis on the work rather than the ego. Though subtle, it stands out. The accent on the é isn’t just decorative either, it’s intentional. As someone of Yoruba heritage, where language is tonal, the accent marks the importance of pronunciation. It’s not Laddy, it’s la-DAY. Even in lowercase, the name carries weight, rhythm, and identity.

While much of her work draws from their Nigerian heritage, growing up in Scotland and her love for abstract hiphop, ladé is equally inspired by ordinary life: a passing conversation, a feeling in the body, a childhood memory.
