Swedish electronic music project, founded in 1996 under the name The Solid Energy Crew and renamed in 1998 to Lagoona. The band was early adopters of the internet music scene, releasing their first MP3 single more than 20 years ago. Lagoona consisted of members Andreas Viklund and Björn Karlsson, both living in Porjus - a small Swedish town just north of the Arctic Circle. The band released all music free on the web, and encouraged listeners to share the songs with their friends. In September 2000, Lagoona got their first #1 song on the MP3.com music chart, the biggest internet music chart at that time. The band was put to rest in 2004, having released four albums in total - but the music remains available online - free to listen to, free to download and free to use (for non-commercial purposes). The Lagoona website, Facebook page and Spotify artist page is still managed by the band itself.
