Laire Beanz

Laire “Beanz” Dunkley’s hip-hop career started as a hobby: writing love songs for girls while attending high school in New Haven, Connecticut. But it was only a matter of time before he and his friends realized they had a knack for rapping and began to pursue it full-time.
He has performed at venues and schools throughout the New Haven region, including Yale University, Southern Connecticut State University. Beanz was born in Kingston, Jamaica to a family of limited means. But that was more than made up for in the rich musical heritage he gained from his early years there. He brings a clear sense of rhythm and pacing to his tracks often lacking in American-born artists’ work. While these rappers might try to rush through their lyrics at light speed, Beanz knows how to smoothly deliver a slow jam.
