Lakes & Fires is a return to absolute creative freedom and independence for three friends - Shaka Loveless, Lasse Boman and Birk Nevel, who have played together for almost 25 years, including hip hop collective “Gypsies”, and the indie pop/rock band “Are We Brothers”.
Shaka Loveless launched his solo project in 2012 with significant commercial acclaim, winning the Danish Music Award for best male artist in 2013.
Lasse Boman has had great success writing multiplatinum hits with artists like Drew Sycamore.
Birk Nevel is an acclaimed producer and drummer, who won the Gaffa Award for best Danish live act with Benjamin Hav og Familien in 2023.
Having been around the block on the Danish scene, age-old friendships, which became a musical match made in Scandinavian heaven, gave life and love to Lakes & Fires. Like their relationships, this music continues to grow over time. What started as an expression of their longing through instrumental sounds, evolved to explore sweet vocal harmonies that conjure thoughts of the past, the present and the future.
