Lakshane

You’d forgive Lakshane for thinking that his music career had peaked back in 2013, when he was a finalist in Sri Lanka’s English music competition, TNL Onstage. He returned to Australia in 2014 after 7 years and made a push towards studying to become a doctor, but it never quite sat right.


After taking a hiatus and finishing his undergraduate degree, Lakshane released his single ‘Don’t Lie’ at the end of 2017, which turned heads in the Melbourne music scene. To capitalise on the momentum of the track, Lakshane spent the next 4 years honing his sound, which mixes alternative R&B with streaks of trap and dark pop to capture the mood of a late night drive.


Highlights of that time include working with global superstar The Kid LAROI, as well as collaborating with Sri Lankan rap heavyweight Costa, leading to a #1 album. Recently, he released ‘Ariana’, frequently landing New Music Friday on Spotify ANZ, as well as commercial radio spins, and coverage from YouTube channels with a total following of 3 million subs.


At 25 Lakshane continues to cultivate a committed fanbase in both Australia and Sri Lanka, having sold out multiple shows in both countries. He’s looking forward to expanding his creativity, surprising fans with the sounds he’s producing, and connecting with listeners across the planet
