Lakshmi

Lakshmi is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Hereford, creating new folk-soul music inspired by the likes of Lianne La Havas, Jorja Smith and Elbow. Having trained as a classical violinist and worked as a session musician with massive bands and orchestras including the Brand New Heavies and the Chineke! Orchestra, Lakshmi is excited to be showcasing her own music to the public. Her wide range of influences from soul to classical formed into a collection of unique songs with haunting lyrics and sophisticated harmony. Lakshmi’s self-titled debut EP, due January 2020, was recorded at Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield with Colin Elliot (Richard Hawley, Kylie Minogue) and sees her collaborate with pianist, songwriter and arranger Ollie West, who produced and arranged strings for the record. Following the release of her first song “The City”, Lakshmi’s second single “Resurrection” will be released November 2019.
