Laureen Julia Jean, known professionally as Larien; stating “as her rebirth in music”, is a Haitian-American R&B Soul singer and songwriter. Her passion in music, singing and songwriting wasn’t hard to find. Growing up in Brooklyn and attending Edward R. Murrow High school for music art and theater; music was everywhere and such a big part of her environment. Larien sites her upbringing as her ethos as a musician.
Some of her musical influences include the technicality of Brandy, Monica, Bryson Tiller, Kehlani, as well as the charisma of Rihanna and Cardi B. Artist that all scream individuality, self- love and self-awareness which are principles she lives by and expresses through her craft.
Apart of her Soundcloud releases, Larien made her musical debut April 2019 with the release of “NFS” written and performed by Larien and featuring Brooklyn female rapper Dessie which received positive reactions on her social media platforms. The massive love and support she received throughout the internet prompted the August 2019 release of her latest promotional single “Own It” of her upcoming December EP titled “no boundaries”.
