lameer

lameer (he/they/dia) is a Singaporean born singer-songwriter who writes the stories of others by day and writes his own stories by night, only this time with added melodies and harmonies in hopes of attaining a sonically distinct longevity. He imagines his atmospheric, indie dance folk pop sound to accompany Annalise Keating grooving alone in the kitchen with a bottle of vodka in her hand or Oliver Quick dancing nude with not a single care if anybody's watching. lameer draws his sound from various artists; namely LÉON, Teeks, SZA and Sabrina Carpenter. His writing explores the art of adapting, negotiating and pretending in a society divergent from one's being.

'what i tell myself' is his first debut single released on June 2024, just a week before an annual pride protest in Hong Lim Park, Singapore "so that the girlies can stream before that heavily pre-approved picnic", according to him. Prior to this, lameer records and uploads originals onto his Soundcloud at soundcloud.com/lameer96/tracks. He is now in the process of writing his debut EP.
