Meet Lamu (Ahlam Ismail), the captivating East African Afro-pop & RnB sensation based in Kampala. With a unique fusion of Kiswahili, English, and Luganda in her lyrics, her sound knows no boundaries.
In 2019, Lamu's career soared when Empawa Africa selected her to represent Uganda among 100 rising artists across the continent. Her debut single and music video, 'Something About You,' marked the official beginning of her musical career. Since then, she has released a remarkable 7-track EP titled 'No Pressure' in 2020 and various features and as of August 22 2024 her latest EP release, 'Infinity .'
Beyond music, Lamu is a distinguished International Relations & Diplomatic Studies student, a Media Personality, and a part-time Youth and Community Projects Coordinator. She was crowned Miss Earth Uganda 2021-2022 by Her Royal Highness, the Queen Mother of Tooro Kingdom.
