The word Land means many different things to writing and production duo, Lucas Rinaldi and Max Gucinski.
Land in its essence implies a shifting landscape of American Rock Music, and an attempt to return to roots while incorporating Americana elements growing in modern Indie Rock.
Lands newest release, ‘When the Leaves Come Down,’ is cannonball into a pool of bitter nostalgia. This song finds you weightless in warm water. You swim to the top for air. When you surface you find that you have been here before, but feels just as distant as your memory of it.
Gucinski and Rinaldi are no strangers to collaboration. After meeting each other in 2016 at SUNY Fredonia, the most westernmost corner of upstate NY, the pair began writing music together and with other musicians on campus.
At the end of their collegiate days, Gucinski joined Rinaldi's band, Citrus Maxima along with then members Wyatt Kirschner and Shawn Majeed. The group found modest success in their biggest single, 1970, and their debut album, Big Fantasy. An indefinite hiatus was called, and Rinaldi and Gucinski reformed as Land shortly thereafter.
