My next solo acoustic performance will be at my favorite brewery in Port Jervis on Saturday August 15th. Landofthesilverjets is one man (Salvatore Peter Russo). He started recording this music in 1999 and put a compilation of the first four albums (We Can Take The Pain) out on iTunes in 2008. After about a decade of working on different musical projects he finally returned as LOTSJ and released an album called Resilence-which was all about life in NYC during the pandemic. In 2022 he put out an EP of songs meant to be heard in winter known as Cold as February-in June he put out his best album to date: NYC Forever. Which is a love letter to NYC he felt needed to be recorded before he left NYC. Russo just put out his loudest, most ambitious album (sounds like revenge ) which features a number of songs with his good friend Alex Harnos. This album is now available on all platforms Before he became LOTSJ he was the frontman for the band Three Cornered Season. This kind of music would best be described as Long Island trance rock recorded in the late nineties. TCS opened the WE Festival in Wilmington, NC. For more follow Landofthesilverjets on Instagram.
Russo’s Influences include Guided By Voices, Yo La Tengo, Sonic Youth, Jonathan FireEater, Stereolab, Jane’s Addiction and My Bloody Valentine. He also refers to Tom Waits as God. You can probably find him riding his bike or running around with his son in his small town near the mountains.
