Once dubbed the king of “dreamy backrub house”, Lane 8 has been making hips swing and sandals shuffle since his breakthrough DJ set in the empty dining room of a San Francisco pork restaurant back in 2012.

Founder of the This Never Happened label and touring concept, since 2016 he has nobly enabled thousands of music lovers worldwide to have IRL, unrecorded, body-transcending, life-affirming and soul-bonding communal dance experiences without phone distractions.

With five albums under his belt, his dreamy melodic sound has drawn influence from tough 90s hip hop, the sugar rush of the EDM heyday, the sleek European techno of labels like Kompakt, oddball electronica, the occasional dash of neo-trance noodles and his boyhood love of Pink Floyd - to mark just a few of his influences.

Outside of music, he likes biking, hiking, tart blueberries, family time, sleeping and eating food.

He can occasionally be found typing on his phone to tell our beloved TNH community that it’s great when we get off our phones and just experience what is going on around us.
