Hailing from the woods of central Ontario, Larch is organic, minimal folk music infused with heady lyricism and nature sounds. Comprised mainly of duo Rory and Zander, Larch distills the complexity of the outer world into haiku-like simplicity, both lyrically and in musical forms that conjure Nick Drake and Brian Eno. "Night Light," the band's sophomore album, develops on themes begun in their self-titled debut, namely the intersection between physical and emotional landscapes. We follow a narrator who wanders rural neighborhoods at night, and meditates on alienation borne from insomnia.
