Larry Kucharz is an electronic composer and media artist who writes in both minimalist and spiritual ambient styles. He was born in 1946 in Chicago, where he was raised. He studied piano and theory at the Chicago and American Conservatories of Music and took his doctorate at Northwestern University. He moved to New York in 1975, where he was an active minimalist composer, filmmaker, and media artist.
His preferred instrument is the Fairlight Music Computer. Kucharz tends to compose with few tonal colors, which emphasizes the uncluttered melodic or rhythmic structures and interplays. He has released three albums on the International Audiochrome label. ~ Carol Wright, Rovi
